Professional excursion to Bavaria
We participated in an extremely informative two-day excursion to Bavaria, organized by SRIP ToP, SRIP MATPRO, the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and CHEMETS d.o.o. 3D and More, which also offered insight into numerous concrete case studies of the use of 3D printing, from reversible engineering for 3D printing of replacement parts, hybrid tooling, rapid prototyping and customisation of products from various materials (yes, now even ceramics!) to investment casting. The icing on the cake was a tour of fantastically realistic sculptures made in an art foundry, which only confirms the wide range of possibilities for innovative use of additive technologies.
In our opinion, knowledge of the advantages and practical value of such technologies should be included in the portfolios of innovative, development, and processing/manufacturing companies, as well as in study programs in various technical fields, as new materials will soon be printed.
We would also like to thank all the organizers and hosts of the excursion for their excellent organization!
