International development delegation in Rwanda
At the end of September 2025, we participated in an offical delegation to Rwanda, which was excellently organized and carried out by the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce.
We presented our experiences to date on the African continent in terms of mutual market access and strengthening value chains to our counterparts from the public and private sectors, and presented some concrete examples of sustainable solutions from our members that could be of interest to the pan-African market, as they also have a broader social impact. The following attracted particular attention:
☑️ cooling without the use of freon refrigerants (fun fact: it was in Kigali that the agreement on the phasing out of F-gases was signed),
☑️ 3D printing solutions, and
☑️ practical implementation of timber assortment control and careful inspections in accordance with the EUDR regulation on deforestation.
At this extremely well-attended business event, contacts were established with support institutions and private companies, and we are particularly pleased with the concrete initiatives for cooperation. Rwanda has ambitious economic and socio-environmental goals and is open to mutual cooperation. In many ways, it is similar to Slovenia. This encourages us to continue cooperating in strengthening inter-institutional development cooperation and developing tailored sustainable solutions.
